Hi Ed, I run a small restaurant wine bar in central Victoria and have previously done unique events in conjunction with the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival – however I’m starting to feel a little disconnected with the organisation and its protocols. Not to mention doing any event with them is assured of making a financial loss due to my tiny (25) seating capacity and their high registration fee’s. I have several cracking ideas for next years festival, but am now considering not doing them as I can’t really afford to continually make a loss, irrespective of how value it is in a branding sense to be associated with the festival. I mentioned my concerns to Tourism Victoria and they suggested I contact you. Is the Fringe Food Festival 2012 interested in including “country events”? Please send me an email or give me a call. Check out my website for an idea of what we do – still under construction, but you should get an idea. Regards, Tim Baxter 0407 985339 / 03 54445885

Hi Ed,
I have just read Tim’s email to you and we have the exact same experience. We run a little restaurant & inn in Port Fairy and have been involved in the Melb Food & Wine Festival umbrella events previously. When we recently came across the Fringe Food Festival on twitter we thought that we may be able to bring this wonderful concept to our region too.
Does two regional restaurateurs equal a ground swell??
cheers, Tanya & Liz

Gday Ed,
It has been suggested that I make contact with you running some local produce related event(s) as part of this festival. We have previously organised events as part of Melbourne Food & Wine Festival. It will probably be something educational, reasonably low cost & fun! If you are doing a regional list as part of the FringeFoodFest please put us on the list to be contacted
Cheers, Meggs
