Upcoming events

Hey ho Fringers,

Quick email to remind you of our fab events coming up and release some menus and share some praise.

Let’s start with that praise shall we?  Rob from Eat.Melbourne came along to our truffle dinner at St Crispin last week.  It was his first Fringe Food event and he’s been kind enough to allow me to share with you his experience of the evening.  If you haven’t *quite* stepped into Fringe Food World yet, perhaps his words will convince you that it’s a fun place to be?

Rob’s posted many more words and photos on his site. Please check it out.

“If you have never been to a Fringe Food Festival event then you are missing out, plain and simple. Having recently attended their truffle dinner at the newly opened Saint Crispin (which I have already raved about), these are events planned by passionate people to educate as well as satiate.

An evening of amazing food, challenging but ultimately engaging wines, high class service and a wonderful host in Fringe Food Festival’s Suzanne Farrell. Which is all my way of saying that you would be foolish not to jump at the chance to partake in an upcoming Fringe Food event. Below are their next two events, both in August: a prestigious exploration of Barolo versus Burgundy at Guy Grossi’s Ombra Salumi Bar; then revisiting one of their favourite past dinners with highlighting the differences between grass- and grain-fed beef at the Vine Hotel, Collingwood. Details on both can be found below, via the links.”

22nd August: Next up some lucky folks will be eating truffles next week, but if you missed out our good friends Ron & Kirsty O’Bryan from The Vine hotel in Collingwood are hosting another in their series of dining experiences. More details here including menu.  A well priced and fab night to be sure!

22 August at Ombra Salumi Bar Fringe Food has teamed up with wine brains (promise not bores!)  Luke Campbell and Jack Steele. We’re tasting Burgundy against Barolo. It’s going to be a great opportunity to drink some outstanding wines (promise) and eat some fab Grossi food. More info and bookings here.

29th August sees us back at the Vine, revisiting one of our earliest dinners. A taste test between Grass Fed and Grain Fed Beef.  Ron’s written his menu and we’re putting the final touches on the wine choices.  Tickets are selling fast so jump on for this one.  Book here.

Hope to see you at one of our events soon!
